Paul Aloysius Kenna

Brigadier General Paul Aloysius Kenna VC DSO (16 August 1862 in Everton, Liverpool - 30 August 1915) was an English born Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that could be awarded to British and British Empire forces.

He was the son of Thomas Kenna, a wealthy stockbroker of Liverpool who was descended from a family of minor gentry from County Meath. Kenna was educated at Stonyhurst College and St. Francis Xavier College in Liverpool - he is honoured in a memorial which can be seen in the main hall of the current college site in Beaconsfield Road, Liverpool. Kenna married Lady Cecil Bertie, daughter of the 7th Earl of Abingdon.

Kenna was 36 years old, and a captain in the 21st Lancers (Empress of India`s), British Army during the Sudan Campaign when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC (currently on display in the The Queen`s Royal Lancers Regimental Museum, Belvoir Castle):

On 2 September 1898, at the Battle of Omdurman, Sudan, when a major of the 21st Lancers was in danger, as his horse had been shot in the charge, Captain Kenna took the major up on his own horse, to a place of safety. After the charge Captain Kenna returned to help Lieutenant De Montmorency who was trying to recover the body of an officer who had been killed.

He competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics for Great Britain as a horse rider. He did not finish the Individual eventing (Military) competition, also the British team did not finish the team event. In the individual jumping event he finished 27th.

He was killed in action at Suvla, Turkey during the Battle of Gallipoli on 30 August 1915, aged 53 and is buried in Lala Baba Cemetery.

Paul D`Hoore

Paul D`Hoore began as a 12-year-old with pony rides. He helped with the horses of his father and had so soon felt different. When in the arena nobody could leave with Koriaan, a small opdondertje of 1.58m which descended from a trotter (trotting course) and a thoroughbred, Paul was the fact mercy. It was a super sensitive boss, but Paul was overjoyed that he had a horse and trained and sought his way with the stallion. Where others went to the café because it was raining, Paul was on the train. They declared him mad, until he proved he contest and Koriaan a real band had built. Using some hard-earned lessons Paul built him up to Prix St. Georges level. After Paul a region championship where he drove to his own feeling bad he decided nationally to drive. Between the `big horses` he was first laughed, but all the criticism was speechless when the harmonic experiments also brought results.

Slowly, Paul asked more as a rider and the company got off the ground. Paul led the young Katastrof at nothing to Grand Prix level and achieved good results with the gelding.

He built and builds countless young horses from zero to race performance. This was also noticed by the people once more and as Paul was 10 years test rider on the third phase of the BWP stallion where he judges each gave a valuable judgement.

Combining a sound SEO strategy with web traffic analysis can change your business, and make a real impact on your bottom line. These two tools (SEO and web traffic analysis) combined with updates of site content (copy, offers, information, etc.) can lead to a very successful Internet marketing strategy. You can identify the page where most customers leave your site and make changes that entice them to send an inquiry, for example. You can refine the copy on the most popular page to guide clients to the next step. You may shorten the inquiry form, and so on. Paul Carberry

Paul Carberry is an Irish National Hunt jockey. He was born on 9 February 1974. He hails from a racing family. He is the son of jockey Tommy Carberry, who was a famous National Hunt jockey in the 1960s and 1970s. His uncle is Arthur Moore, one of Ireland`s leading National Hunt trainers. His younger siblings, Phillip and Nina, are also successful Irish riders.

Apprenticing for Jim Bolger, Carberry earned his first win in August 1990 on Petronelli. He was also the jockey for racehorse owner Robert Ogden. Carberry learned his trade through hunting, show-jumping and point-to-pointing in Ireland and many view him as one of Ireland`s leading jump jockeys along with Ruby Walsh, Barry Geraghty, Davy Russell and Andrew McNamara. In 1993, atop Rhythm Section, Carberry won the Champion Bumper – his first win at the Cheltenham Festival. Arguably the biggest win of his career was when he followed in his father`s footsteps and won the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse aboard Bobbyjo in 1999.

Of all the horses Carberry has been paired with, perhaps the most successful partnership has been with Harchibald. The two went on to win five Grade 1 races, with wins in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle (2004, 2007), Christmas Hurdle (2004, 2008) and the John James McManus Memorial Hurdle (2005). However, the pairing is most known for their battle with Hardy Eustace at the 2005 Champion Hurdle. In the race, Harchibald looked certain to win, only to be beat by Hardy Eustace at the finish line.

Despite all of his success in National Hunt racing, Carberry has faced problems outside off the track. In 2005, he was arrested and charged over an alleged incident which took place on board an Aer Lingus flight from Malaga to Dublin. According to reports, Carberry supposedly set fire to a newspaper on the flight. He was sentenced to two months in jail as a result of the incident. In 2009, Carberry was suspended for 30 days by the Referrals Committee of the Turf Club after he failed an alcohol breath test at Naas on 31 October 2009. The suspension caused Carberry to miss the 2009 Fighting Fifth Hurdle and Christmas Hurdle. His replacement, Davy Condon, rode Go Native to wins in both races. After serving his suspension, Carberry and Go Native were paired together for the 2010 Champion Hurdle. A win in the race would have landed Go Native the Triple Crown of Hurdling and Carberry would have secured £150,000 as his share of the £1m bonus offered by WBX. However, Go Native was unable to capture the win, instead finishing in 10th place after being eased when beaten on the run from the final hurdle. Afterwards, Carberry said that Go Native dived after the second hurdle and was never the same moving forward.

Paul has been associated with many great horses throughout his career, including Sausilito Bay, Nicanor, Florida Pearl, Beef or Salmon, Solerina, Harbour Pilot, Harchibald, Hairy Molly, Go Native and Bobbyjo. Atop many of these horses, Carberry has won 39 Grade 1 races in his career.

Carberry is the current stable jockey to Noel Meade. He recently launched his own brand of racewear selling all sorts of racing equipment. His younger sister, Nina Carberry, is also a National Hunt jockey. Following his suspension, Carberry has vowed not to drink again until his career as a National Hunt jockey is complete.
